COPE webinar - Problematic Sexual Behavior in Youth and Children

Thursday, March 21, 2024
12:00 pm1:00 pm

COPE has launched a new initiative as part of our Training and Education program. Join us on the 3rd Thursday of each month from 12:00 to 1:00 for a free 1-hour webinar. Each month will feature a new topic relevant to pediatric health care and behavioral health.

The presentations will be held virtually via Zoom. The Zoom link will be sent to all registrants prior to the session. The trainings are free to attend and one CME will be issued upon completion for each webinar.

Each session of the webinar series will use the same Zoom link. Participants are able to register for one session and save the Zoom information to join future presentations without re-registering.

Child development, as it relates to human sexuality, can oftentimes be a taboo topic. Please join us for an informational overview of problematic sexual behaviors (PSB) in children. This presentation aims to define PSB and differentiate between appropriate and inappropriate sexual behaviors in children, explain the impact of using appropriate language when discussing the topic, and identify common myths relating to problematic sexual behaviors in children and risk factors for sexual acting out. Participants will leave the session with an understanding of response and reporting of PSB, as well as how to support families throughout treatment.

Presented by Whitney Anderson, LIMHP, AVP of Children and Family Services at Lutheran Family Services of Nebraska.
