4th Annual Pursuit to Excellence: Wound, Ostomy and Continence Management on Friday, April 21
Target Audience: Nurses and other health care professionals involved in wound, ostomy, and continence care.
Learning Objectives:
-Discuss effective communication approached when educating ostomates about ostomy care and sexual considerations to improve quality of life among patients living with ostomy.
-Apply techniques to managing enterocutaneous fistulas with high output while providing would care to the surrounding skin affected from caustic effluent.
-Articulate the importance of addressing burnout in the workplace and what self-care strategies can be utilized to overcome stressors impacting job satisfaction, emotional and physical health, and productivity.
-Describe treatment approaches including pharmaceutical options for common continence issues as well as for pain related to wound management when caring for your patients.
